“This morning 25 TNT workers were taken to police headquarters after house searches while two of our coordinators, Carlo and Arafat, were placed under house arrest on charges of aggravated resistance for the extraordinary 13-day strikes at Tnt against the arrogance of FedEx that ended with an agreement signed at the local Prefecture.”
The above was reported by the SI Cobas union on their national web page.
The “Draghi era” opens with repressive actions worthy of the 1920’s. The government response to the just protest against the corporate restructuring plan, which involved more than 300 layoffs, for the defense of jobs, health security and improvement of contractual conditions is to arresting the struggle’s vanguards and union coordinators. The purpose is clear: from Fedex/Tnt in Piacenza to Texprint in Prato, it is extremely urgent to intimidate the struggles that have developed in recent years and undermine the expansion of the same awareness and combativeness to other plants and other sectors. The communists’ response to these provocations must be sharp and firm. Nothing will make us abandon our struggles for the just cause of a society without exploitation of man by man.
