The undersigned Communist and Workers’ Parties, through this communiqué, express our sincere concern over the numerous cases of workers who have been subjected to judicial proceedings and criminalization of their labor and trade union struggles in Venezuela.
We express our solidarity with the Venezuelan working class and especially with the 19 workers who are currently unjustly detained and are victims of procedural delays by the Venezuelan legal system.
We demand that the Venezuelan government and authorities immediately release the 19 workers unjustly detained for exercising their legitimate trade union rights and for denouncing cases of corruption. Likewise, we advocate the cessation of the practices of judicialization and criminalization of workers’ struggles.
We extend our message of encouragement and solidarity to the families, friends and organizations that are fighting for the freedom of these 19 working class fighters.
